iPRONICS has been granted by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness

iPronics Programmable Photonics has been granted by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (Institut Valencià de Competitivitat Empresarial, IVACE) in the framework of the Program “Creación de empresas de base tecnológica (CREATEC-CV)” to carry out the project DensePhotonics whose activities have been performed during 2021-2022.

DensePhotonics focuses on the development of the process and system for the automatic encapsulation of high density programmable photonic circuits, including the interconnection of the optical chip to the electronic circuit with more than 300 electronic signals by means of Flip-Chip bonding and the interconnection to a 64-channel fiber optic array by lateral coupling. The result of the project will be scalable to higher density chips. In addition, the assembly will be compatible with a 100% automated process, enabling subsequent medium- to large-scale manufacturing.
