Eladio Crego

CEO

Eladio Crego has twenty-one years of experience in entrepreneurship, financial planning, evaluation and negotiation of investments, and valuation and commercialization of technologies. Since 2009 he is an independent Consultant, the Manager of the Science Fund of Barrié Foundation (5,5M€), and the Representative of Barrié Foundation at the Ignicia PoC Fund – GAIN (Innovation Agency of the Galician Regional Government) (7M€). He is a member of the Board of Nasasbiotech (spin-off that is developing a new strategy to treat metastatic cancer), Qubiotech (new image-based diagnostic software start-up) and Mtrap Inc (a US joint venture between Nasasbiotech and Biomerix Inc). He has helped to raise more than 12M€ of private and public funds in these companies. Previously he was Member of the Investment Committee of I2C venture capital fund and Investment Manager at Uninvest and Unirisco, both VC funds specialized in technology companies, where he managed investments of €15M in 11 start-ups.  Eladio holds a BA from the University of Santiago de Compostela, MBA from Abanca Business School and Program for Management Development (PMD) from ESADE Business School

Daniel Pérez

Daniel Pérez He is a Telecommunications Engineer (2014), Master in Technologies, Systems and Communications Networks (2015) and PhD in Communications (2017) from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). In 2016 he carried a brief stay at the Optoelectronics Research Centre at the University of Southampton (United Kingdom). Currently, he works full-time at the Photonics Research Labs research centre, as a postdoctoral researcher at the European Project ERC-ADG-2016 UMWPCHIP. He has published 40 scientific contributions in international magazines and congresses, focusing on programmable photonic integrated processors. Daniel Pérez received the national COIT-AEIT award for the best Final Career Project and the Best Doctoral Thesis in Fundamentals and Basic Technologies of Information and Communications, and its Applications in 2015 and 2018, respectively. His doctoral thesis was also awarded by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE Photonics Society with the International Best Student Graduate Fellowship Award 2017.

Prometheus Das Mahapatra

Prometheus Das Mahapatra He completed his Electrical Engineering degree at the West Bengal University of Technology in 2009. He subsequently completed a Master’s degree in nanoelectronics from the University of Manchester in 2011. In 2016, he obtained a PhD in Integrated Photonics from the Technical University of Eindhoven, The Netherlands. His Doctoral Thesis was entitled «Ring Resonator based Integrated Photonic Circuits». During the years 2016 and 2017, he worked as a design engineer and consultant for the company ASML, mainly in the field of the new generation of EUV scanners. Later he returned to join academic and research tasks, occupying a position as a postdoctoral researcher at the Indian Institute of Science, India, where he worked on the development of a platform for electronic devices of group III-V. Since March 2018, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Photonics Research Labs of the Universitat Politècnica de València, where he is a member of the ERC-ADG-2016 UMWP-Chip project team. His research experience includes the simulation, design, manufacture and evaluation of integrated optoelectronic devices and circuits based on silicon technology, as well as active devices on InP and their active-passive integration. He has participated in several research projects and published twenty articles in prestigious international magazines and conferences.

Ivana Gasulla

Ivana Gasulla is a senior researcher (Ramón y Cajal) and Deputy Director of Dissemination and Promotion of the ITEAM Research Institute of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). In 2016, he received a prestigious ERC Consolidator Grant to develop new spatial division multiplexing techniques for the new generation of fiber-wireless communications under the InnoSpace project. Ivana Gasulla received the title of Engineer and PhD in Telecommunications from UPV, in 2005 and 2008, respectively. His doctoral thesis was recognized with the LEOS Graduate Student Fellowship Award granted by the IEEE Photonics Society. In 2012, she received a Fulbright scholarship to carry out a 2-year postdoctoral stay at Stanford University, United States. The results of his work have led to more than 100 international publications, highlighting contributions to Nature Communications and Nature Photonics. He is a member of the technical committee of the most prestigious conferences in the field: European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC), Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) and IEEE International Topical meeting on Microwave Photonics (MWP).

Iñaki Berenguer

Iñaki Berenguer is cofounder and CEO of CoverWallet, a tech startup reinventing insurance for small businesses.  Before he was cofounder and CEO of Contactive (which also operated Klink), a big data platform for telephone calls acquired by Thinkingphones (now rebranded as Fuze). Prior to that, he was cofounder and CEO of Pixable, a consumer internet startup acquired by SingTel, the second largest telco in the world. He has also worked at Microsoft Corporate Strategy (Redmond) and 2 years at McKinsey&Co. And as a research engineer during his PhD at Intel, NEC Labs America (Princeton), STMicroelectronics (San Diego) and HP. Iñaki completed a Telecom Engineering degree from UPV, Master and PhD degrees in Engineering at Cambridge University (UK), an MBA at MIT, was a postdoctoral research fellow of the Cambridge-MIT Institute, and spent 2 years as a Fulbright Scholar at Columbia University.
